Community Involvement

TAAN TV Cares

The reason why The African American Network exists is to serve communities in cities across the country.  Our community involvement and partnerships include our flagship youth program Work is the New Hustle and we’ve worked with and supported several causes that are near and dear to our hearts that include the Texas Kidney Foundation, 100 Black Men, SAAACAM and Kier’s Hope Foundation.

The reason we are so deeply rooted in our community because we understand the role that developing our youth and taking care of our health in the African American Community is so important.

Sickle Cell Anemia

TAAN support of Sickle Cell Anemia and our community involvement with them is very personal.  Our Co-Chief Executive Officer Vance Bradford represented Kier “Junior” Spates, currently the Co-Host for the Steve Harvey Morning Show.  Kier was born with Sickle Cell and when Vance Bradford found out about his condition, he immediately became an advocate.  Kier established Kier’s Hope Foundation and now has an annual 5K walk run that he hosts every year in Dallas, Texas.  Senator Royce West proclaimed that Kier “Junior” Spates as Kier’s Hope Foundation Day in the State of Texas.

This initiative is designed to highlight active individuals and networks within the minority community who have the power, resources, and influence to bridge economic and social gaps in sports and Corporate America.

The next steps of our national campaign will be to create youth programs that further push towards the inclusion of ALL genres represented in this country, while at the same time providing opportunities and a platform for them to learn the game of golf from local pros, volunteers, coaches, etc.
